Applications open for the 2017 Young Leaders Programme

16 May 2017

2017 Young Leaders Programme

Call for Applications

Dear UICC members,

On behalf of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), I am delighted to announce that the call for applications for our 2017 Young Leaders Programme opens today, Monday 15th May, and will close on Friday 30th June.

The aim of this initiative is to identify and support aspiring young professionals in cancer control, providing unique opportunities for professional development and fostering a group of individuals who can become successful leaders in cancer control and the wider global health community.

We have strengthened the UICC Young Leaders Programme this year with the development of a more structured and extensive programme. This includes additional opportunities for learning and networking, international and regional engagement, as well as greater recognition and visibility for those selected. We have also introduced an improved selection process to help us identify these young leaders.

Seven individuals will be selected this year and the programme cycle will commence at the 2017 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City and conclude at the 2018 World Cancer Congress in Kuala Lumpur.

We would welcome applications fr individuals who fit the following criteria:

  • Under 40 years of age
  • Experienced cancer control professional with demonstrated impact in their network/organisation
  • Self-starter with proven experience in community engagement and mobilisation
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written) for successful interaction at an international level

For further information regarding the programme and the application process, please visit our website or contact my team at education@uicc.org.

Please also share this with your respective networks, and encourage any potential candidates you know to apply.

We look forward to receiving these applications.

    With best regards,

    Dr Cary Adams
    Chief Executive Officer
